Insteon® Home Automation Coming to Australia & New Zealand

November 20, 2012.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA. - The Insteon Home Automation and Control system is soon to make its long awaited debut in Australia and New Zealand. After nearly a decade of North American exclusivity, the award-winning, best-selling Insteon range is due for release this summer.

Home technology distributor Nodal Australia, in conjunction with retail home automation specialists Envious Technology, are proud to announce a distribution partnership with SmartLabs Inc. (USA), the designer and manufacturer of Insteon. For years, Insteon has been the fastest growing lighting and appliance control solution in North America. Now, Nodal Australia is proud to continue its dedication to home and building automation with the release of these innovative products into the Australasian market.

"We're very excited that Insteon is finally coming down under!" says Nodal Australia's Darren Hornstra. "We have long aspired to bring this industry-leading product to our market, so you can imagine our delight as the dream turns to reality. A comprehensive range of Insteon products will be released in stages, commencing later in 2012. Insteon is a simple, responsive and very reliable system, and yet it's going to be the most cost-effective on the market. It's beautiful. It's what home automation should be".

The initial product lines to be released will include remote controls, a plug-in dimmer and relay, an internet enabled hub (with free iOS/Android app), thermostat, DIN rail mounted modules, behind switch micro-modules, motion sensor, door/window sensor and more. Products will be available for purchase online through Envious Technology and through a number of other retail and trade partners. Pricing will be very competitive, with modules starting from $59.

Over in the USA, SmartLabs Inc. president Joe Gerber says that "We're excited to bring Insteon globally to customers ranging from professional installers to intrepid do-it-yourselfers. Anyone looking to remotely control their home or business will quickly discover that Insteon is the most affordable, reliable wireless networking solution available."

Featuring simple installation and unparalleled reliability for an essentially wire-free system, Insteon is set to become the new standard in efficient home and building automation. A selection of plug-in DIY components makes it possible to add wireless control of appliances without an electrician, and a range of professional inline components are also available for more advanced installations. Insteon's "dual-mesh" technology communicates simultaneously via RF and power-lines, providing a technical edge over single-medium technologies such as X10, Z-Wave and Zigbee.

Whether you're looking to retro-fit some smart lighting and appliance control into an existing home, or considering a building automation system for a property yet to be constructed, Insteon provides a technically proficient and cost-effective platform to build your project.

Insteon® Home Automation Products Go Global

Wireless Control and Sensing Network Coming to Europe and Australia/New Zealand in 2012

March 1, 2012.

IRVINE, CA. - After nearly a decade of North American exclusivity, Insteon is taking its award-winning wireless control technology overseas. Insteon products are slated to ship to both Europe and Australia/New Zealand this summer.

For years, Insteon has been the fastest growing lighting and appliance control solution in North America. Now the company is within a few months of bringing its innovative products to the international market.

"We've been developing 230V/50Hz-compatible Insteon products for several years and last year we began field tests with our international partners," said CEO Joe Dada. "We plan to roll out a well-rounded product offering to both Europe and Australia/New Zealand around mid-2012. While battery-powered products will communicate via Insteon radio frequencies (RF), all products connected to the mains will be dual-band (RF and powerline), generating unequaled reliability. Furthermore, all powerline products are backwards-compatible to the old X10 technology."

Debut products include remotes, plug-in modules, internet gateways with free smartphone apps, DIN rail modules, micromodules, motion sensors, door/window sensors and more. Products will be available for purchase online and at a number of distribution points within the region, with modules starting at €34.99.

"We're excited to bring Insteon globally to customers ranging from professional installers to intrepid do-it-yourselfers," said President/COO Joe Gerber. "Anyone looking to remotely control their home or business will quickly discover that Insteon is the most affordable, reliable wireless networking solution available."

With its simple installation and setup process and trustworthy communication, Insteon has become the industry standard in efficient home and building automation. Plug-in and in-wall modules make it possible to add wireless control to any appliance in your home or business without having to hire a contractor. By making every networked device talk to each other via radio frequencies and existing electrical wiring, Insteon eliminates the need for complex rewiring or a central hub. This allows for rapid inter-device communication with very few delays or drops.
